Goldbergh FW26: Performance Luxury, Inspired by Japan

Second in Collection Watch, and this one's personal to me: Goldbergh's Fall/Winter 2026-2027 collection is a love letter to Japan, built around the contrast between Tokyo's restless energy and the quiet of Niseko's powder slopes. It's exactly the kind of storytelling I want every ski wardrobe to have.

A Collection in Two Cities

Tokyo's Energy, Niseko's Silence

What I love about this collection is that it doesn't pick a lane. Goldbergh built an entire story around the two faces of Japan: the dense, neon-lit pulse of Tokyo and the hush of Niseko under fresh snow. The fall-facing "Nomikai" edit carries that city energy into luxury outerwear, statement knitwear and embroidery, and includes the brand's first-ever denim capsule, drawn from Japanese craftsmanship. It's proof a ski-adjacent collection can live comfortably off the mountain too.

Then the collection turns toward the snow. "Japow" takes its name from Niseko's legendary powder and translates it into clean, technical silhouettes, laminated quilting and leather detailing in black and white, lifted with bold red accents and Japanese typography. It's performance wear that still reads as fashion first.

"The best ski collections don't choose between performance and personality. Goldbergh just proved you can have Tokyo's edge and Niseko's powder in the same closet."

After Dark

Night Runner Takes Tokyo After Hours

My favourite part of the story is "Night Runner," built around Tokyo's nocturnal energy: high-shine fabrics, bold colour contrasts and graphic prints, including Goldbergh's signature dot print reworked in soft pastels with faux fur and velvet. It's the après-ski version of the city's nightlife, and it's exactly the kind of piece that photographs beautifully from lift line to lounge.

15 Years of Goldbergh

The Legacy Edit

The collection also marks Goldbergh's 15th anniversary with a "Legacy Edit" of iconic silhouettes in a special black-and-gold star print — playful, a little nostalgic, and clearly made by a brand confident in its own history.

The Most Luxurious Offering

The Snow Empress Capsule

The collection closes with the "Snow Empress" capsule — couture-inspired shapes, luxurious jacquards and Swarovski crystal embellishments. That capsule alone is the clearest signal yet that ski fashion has fully earned its seat at the luxury table.

Why It Matters For Your Snow Wardrobe

Storytelling Is the New Luxury Standard

What Goldbergh and Dior are both doing this season, in their own ways, is proving that a ski wardrobe can carry a real narrative, not just a technical spec sheet. That's the standard I want every piece in 2ND LANE's collection to meet: considered, detailed, and worth wearing well beyond the chairlift.

It's also exactly why renting makes sense for pieces like these. A capsule this specific, this seasonal, deserves to be worn once and worn well, not boxed up in storage for eleven months of the year.
