Getting the Fit Right

Skiwear Sizing Guide: How to Get the Right Fit When Renting

The single biggest factor in whether a rented outfit feels luxurious or just borrowed is fit. Here's how we help clients get it right before their pieces are even booked, and what to check before you rent designer ski wear.

Why Ski Sizing Is Different

Your Everyday Size Isn't Always Your Ski Size

Ski suits and jackets are cut to fit over a base layer and often a mid-layer too, so they run roomier than a regular jacket in the same labelled size. European brands, which make up most of our collection, also size differently to Australian sizing, and cuts vary noticeably between brands, a fitted Fusalp suit and a relaxed Goldbergh jacket in the "same" size can feel quite different on.

Our full size guide and charts page has the specific measurements for each brand we carry, and it's worth checking before you book rather than after, since it's the fastest way to avoid a swap request once your dates are locked in.

01

Measure, Don't Guess

Take your bust, waist and hip measurements rather than relying on your usual clothing size, then compare them against the brand's specific chart.

02

Account for Layers

If you run warm and layer light, true to size usually works. If you feel the cold and layer heavily, sizing up slightly gives you room to move.

03

Ask If Unsure

If two sizes look close on the chart, message us before booking. It's easier to confirm fit in advance than to arrange a last-minute exchange.

One-Piece vs Two-Piece Fit

Suits and Separates Fit Differently

A one-piece ski suit needs to fit through the torso and the legs at the same time, so if your proportions sit between two sizes, a jacket and pants combination often gives you more flexibility, you can size each piece independently. If you already know you prefer the streamlined look of a suit, our team can talk you through which of our suit brands run closer to true size versus which run generously.

This matters just as much whether you're renting for a local trip to Thredbo or Perisher, or packing for further afield in Japan or Europe, where a heavier base layer under your suit for genuinely cold conditions can change which size fits best.

Still Not Sure?

Book a Private Styling Session

If you'd rather not navigate sizing alone, our private styling service pairs you with someone who knows the collection and can recommend pieces based on your measurements, your destination and how you like to ski. It's especially useful before a bigger trip, whether that's Queenstown, Japan or Europe, where you want to know your outfit works before you've packed the suitcase. Our FAQ also covers common sizing and exchange questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Skiwear Sizing — Your Questions Answered

How do I know what size ski suit to rent?

Measure your bust, waist and hips and compare them against the specific brand's size chart on our size guide page, since European ski brands run differently to standard Australian sizing.

Should I size up for a ski suit?

If you tend to feel the cold and layer heavily underneath, sizing up slightly gives you room to move. If you run warm and layer light, true to size usually works.

What if I'm between two sizes?

A jacket and pants combination lets you size each piece independently, which often solves the problem a one-piece suit can't. You can also message us before booking to confirm fit.

Can I get styling help choosing my size?

Yes. Our private styling service recommends pieces based on your measurements, your destination and how you like to ski, so you know your outfit works before you pack.
